CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge voters have returned to the Conservative fold, electing Progressive Conservative candidate Brian Riddell to office Thursday and sending Belinda Karahalios, incumbent New Blue Party MPP, to the bottom of the polls. “I’m honoured to be representing Cambridge,” Riddell said. With 59 of 69 polls reporting, Riddell won 13,218 votes (37.65 per cent); his nearest competitor, Knight, won 7,660 votes or 21. Karahalios was elected as a Conservative to represent Cambridge as MPP in 2018. Green Party candidate Carla Johnson is a retired teacher and took her second shot at elected office, after running in the 2018 Cambridge municipal election for councillor in Ward 8.
