If you are deaf and play sport, it's an uphill task getting funding in New Zealand. Just ask the organiser of the New Zealand Deaf Games, Rachel Turner. On Labour Weekend, 140 deaf athletes from across the country will descend on Hamilton to play eight sports. Along with a need for a little more funding, Turner is also on the hunt for two technical delegates and one or two referees.
