Calgary to remove public art installation after U.K. artist finds out her photo was filched


That is my giant face in an underpass in Calgary. All of the portraits appear to be taken directly from the promotional materials of the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe — an annual gathering of comedians and actors. Some of them are quite famous in the U.K., yet the installation seems to imply they might be homeless residents of the underpass. For the Edinburgh installation, he said he used quotes and photos of local residents. However, for the Calgary installation, the artist appears to have utilized comedians’ photos that appeared in promotional materials for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
