Wanaka Wastebusters board has appointed Tony Pfeiffer as the new general manager in the same month as it is celebrates its 20th birthday. PHOTO: SUPPLIEDTwenty years of reducing, re-using and recycling Wanaka’s waste is being marked by a day of cake and celebrations at Wastebusters today. Wastebusters officially started working towards zero waste with a staff of just three in 2000. Communications manager Gina Dempster said the organisation now employed more than 50 full-time and part-time staff over two sites in Wanaka and Alexandra. This week, Wastebusters also announced Tony Pfeiffer had been appointed general manager, replacing Sue Coutts.
