Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said the National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr.’s request for the designation of the Cabinet Officers for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) has been approved during the Cabinet meeting last Monday. The designation of the CORDS will be formalized through an executive order, Panelo added. The same EO also authorized the task force to implement a mechanism for localized peace talks within the next six months.
