KUALA LUMPUR: The Government has encouraged taxi drivers to move to e-hailing services. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said only 14% have registered with e-hailing platforms. On plans to introduce a complete integrated ticketing system for all modes of public transport, Nancy said it would be expected to be ready by 2019. Under the system, passengers would no longer need to use different payment methods for different public transportation services, including buses. Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai had said on July 18 that the government is pushing for a single ticketing system for all rail services by year-end, noting that the KTM Komuter is currently using a different system.
