Sumaiya Begum, wife of militant Abu Ali, led him down the path of militancy, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has said. “Abu’s wife persuaded him to become a militant,” CTTC unit Chief Monirul Islam told media on Saturday. Abu and three other militants were killed in an anti-terror operation in Chapainawabganj on Thursday, code-named Operation Eagle Hunt. CTTC Chief Monirul said that Abu’s family and in-laws were involved with Jamaat-e-Islami. Abu’s family has refused to accept his body, while Sumaiya’s parents have been on the run since the day of the raid.
