Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has reiterated its proposal to the government to set 7% uniform VAT instead of 15% in the upcoming budget. He said: “We are not against the new VAT law. But the process of VAT collection would be a big problem for us as the mechanism for VAT collection is not ready yet. “We will fight till the last moment so that the VAT rate is reduced. After several deferrals on the implementation date, the government is now planning to implement the new VAT law from July 1.
