The CTBC Financial Holding has been picked as a component in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World Index for the first time, the Taiwan-based financial firm announced on Sept. 7. It was also listed in the 2017 DJSI Emerging Market Index, the second time the firm was selected in the index after its first entry last year. The DJSI World Index listing was a recognition of CTBC Financial Holding's performance in business operations, corporate governance, social participation, employee welfare, and environmental protection, the company said in a press release. CTBC has also incorporated ESG (environmental, social, governance) elements into its business model to build a resilient and sustainable financial corporation with a vision for making responsible and sustainable investments, he said. The DJSI is based on an analysis of the corporate economic, environmental and social performance of a firm.
