[11]The COP28 agendaThe destructive force of climate change has never been more widely evident around the world. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established in 1988 to provide scientific, up-to-date assessments of climate change; nearly all nations have joined the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, with the goal of averting “dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.” See History of the IPCC (www.ipcc.ch/about/history).
