Dhinakaran in the by-election to the Assembly constituency as a mark of gratitude for former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. It consists of senior leaders such as Panruti S. Ramachandran, M. Thambidurai, A. Anwar Raja and Varahur A. Arunchalam. Speaking to reporters after filing nomination papers, Mr.Ganesh said the civic infrastructure in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar had not improved in the past few years. Naam Tamilar Katchi leader Seeman said welfare measures for the weaker sections in the constituency was inadequate.
