LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated the Lahore Ring Road (LRR) southern loop I and II which has been constructed in collaboration with Lahore Ring Road Authority and Frontier Works Organization (FWO). Construction of this 22.4 kilometres (km) long important road, which had been constructed in a record period of one year, had connected the southern and northern parts of the city. He thanked the FWO director general and his team, Punjab ministers, Lahore Ring Road Authority Chairperson Abdullah Sumbul and others. CM Shehbaz said that he had been accused of being involved in corruption in road construction projects but all allegations against him have been proven wrong. Moreover, the chief minister said that the southern loop had been connected with the northern loop and linked with IC-3.
