Disabled persons protest against not getting 5% quota

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday granted further time to the provincial government to file a comprehensive reply on a petition seeking implementation of five percent disabled quota for employment in all government sectors. A division bench was hearing a petition filed by disabled special persons who had applied for employment in different departments but were not given jobs. The disabled persons laid down in front of the Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon’s car when he was returning back after the hearing. They pleaded that the respective departments had conducted their interviews and test, and had also issued disability certificates to them. The court was further requested to call a report from the relevant authorities to ascertain the implementation of five percent quota of disabled persons.
