The Christchurch Girls' High School cricket team will look to win the Gillette Venus Cup national competition on home soil next month. The Christchurch Girls’ High School first XI cricket team will look to go one better when they compete in the Gillette Venus Cup national secondary schoolgirls competition. CGHS will represent Canterbury as one of six schools that will play a twenty20 competition in Christchurch from December 6 to 8. Each of New Zealand’s six cricket districts are represented Otago, Canterbury, Central District’s Wellington, Auckland and Northern Districts. The team had convincing wins over a Forward Foundation XI, Rangi Ruru and Burnside High School to qualify for the tournament.
