Abu, 60, was the Jessore BNP vice president and Majidpur Union Parishad chairman. He was a BNP nomination-seeker in the upcoming 11th parliamentary election for the Jessore 6 constituency. According to Jessore BNP sources, Abu travelled to Dhaka to collect a Jessore 6 nomination form for the 11th general election.
