Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said the existing law allows for army deployment during the election and no new law is needed for the facility. “The existing law is enough for a free and fair election and that is why we should apply it appropriately,” the CEC added. The Election Commission arranged the press conference after a three-month-long dialogue with all the registered political parties before the upcoming national election. According to the CEC, the time to take a decision on army deployment during the election is yet to come.
