The CBI has accused the Roys and NDTV of criminal conspiracy and cheating and causing a deliberate loss of Rs 48 crores to ICICI Bank. In a statement, NDTV has alleged that the CBI raids are a witch-hunt based on false allegations. In response to the raids carried out by the CBI, NDTV put out a statement accusing the CBI of carrying out a witch-hunt. "The CBI raids are a blatant political attack on the freedom of the press. Meanwhile, the Editors Guild of India has put out a statement expressing concern over the CBI raids against NDTV.
