CBI officer probing Nirav scam shifted

Imran Ahmed SiddiquiNirav ModiNew Delhi: The Centre has repatriated Rajiv Singh, a senior CBI officer who was probing the Rs 13,000-crore bank scam involving Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi, to his parent cadre with immediate effect. The 1993-batch, Tripura-cadre IPS officer had earlier headed the team probing the Saradha deposit mobilisation scam in Bengal and Odisha. Singh headed the CBI's bank and security fraud section in Delhi that is also probing an alleged Rs 6-crore fraud case against his brother, Sanjiv. The Telegraph had in October reported that some CBI officials had questioned Singh's appointment as joint director in the bank fraud section, saying his relationship with Sanjiv created a conflict of interest. The others repatriated are Tripura-cadre officers R. Gopal Krishna Rao, an SP-rank officer, and Anisha Prasad, a DIG, and Nina Singh, a joint director from the Rajasthan cadre.
