A CBC Hamilton reporter has taken home a top award for digital news gathering for his coverage of the Tim Bosma murder trial. Adam Carter won the central region Ron Laidlaw award for continuing coverage in the digital category at the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awards Saturday. Rick Hughes, CBC Hamilton executive producer, said Carter put tremendous effort into his coverage of the trial and calls the award "well deserved." CBC Toronto was also nominated for its coverage of the Jian Ghomeshi trial, and CBC Montreal for the trial of Richard Bain. CBC Hamilton was also nominated in the Adrienne Clarkson award for diversity for its coverage of Syrian refugees and the city-wide response, as well as the digital media award (large market) for its approach to digital storytelling and use of social media.
