CBC Toronto takes top awards at Canadian RTDNA's


CBC Toronto took home three top awards for digital and radio coverage at the Canadian Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) awards show Saturday afternoon. CBC Toronto's Facebook live during the 2016 Pride Parade won the Gord Sinclair Award for the best live special event. CBC Toronto's coverage of the death of Rob Ford won the Charlie Edwards Award for best spot news in a digital format. This title is given to the radio station which uses sound in an outstanding and creative way to tell a single news story or feature. CBC Toronto was also nominated for its coverage of the Jian Ghomeshi trial.
