Quebec's Minister of Municipal Affairs Geneviève Guilbault will leave provincial politics at the end of her mandate, citing family reasons. Following his announcement, a few CAQ MNAs signaled wanting to see Guilbault at the head of the party. The imminent CAQ leadership race might have also been a factor, said St-Pierre, adding that Guilbault did not have enough support from her peers. A high profile ministerPerhaps what most hurt her prospects inside the CAQ was Guilbault's association with the SAAQclic scandal, said St-Pierre. After losing a byelection in Quebec City shortly after Guilbault's April 2023 announcement , the CAQ decided to revive a third link for vehicles.
