The Confederation of African Football, CAF, Sunday proposed to help Egypt, Africa’s largest winners of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophies, after the loss of the historic cup. “CAF has been informed about the disappearance of the AFCON via the secretariat of Egyptian Football Association (EFA). We are open and the EFA can rely on our support in the search of those priceless souvenirs,” the African football governing body said on Twitter. CAF in 2013 gave Egypt a permanent AFCON trophy after winning the 2006, 2008 and 2010 titles. Magdi Abdelghani, a former of the association noted that several other silverware items had been lost in the fire, reports say.
