Byram shoots past last year's goal total to help Giants to victory

Vancouver Giants rearguard Bowen Byram is tied for top spot in goal scoring amongst WHL defencemen. The projected 2019 NHL Draft first-rounder bagged his seventh of the year in the Giants’ 4-2 road win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday night. Byram, a 17-year-old from Cranbrook, is one of four WHL blue liners with that total, while another four are at six goals. Byram’s now at 17 points on the season, which ties him for the 14th best total rearguards in the 22-team league. He’s third in scoring on the Giants, behind centres Milos Roman and Davis Koch, who both are at 21 points.
