Alipurduar, Sept. 1: The National Green Tribunal's order to shut all tourist accommodations inside the Buxa Tiger Reserve has dealt another blow to the tourism industry in north Bengal that has been reeling from the strife in the hills. A large number of tourists from different parts of the country had already booked rooms in different lodges and cottages in the Buxa reserve. Biplab Dey, the vice-president of the Dooars Tourism Development Forum, said: "Several tourists had booked rooms in the lodges of Buxa for Puja holidays. Another prominent tour operator in north Bengal said: "The green tribunal's order is yet another blow to the tourism sector in the region. Bengal tourism minister Gautam Deb said the government was exploring legal options to get the order set aside.
