more-inThe Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday rescued a minor working as domestic help from an apartment in Dwarka. The DCW claimed the 16-year-old was brought to the Capital when she was just 6-year-old by a placement agency from Jharkhand. After DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal received a tip-off about the minor, a team comprising DCW and Delhi Police officials rescued her. The girl was taken to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to record her statements and was then sent to a shelter home. The DCW and CWC should work together and recover her pending salary in accordance with the declared minimum wage from her employer.”
