Buttigieg critiques Biden’s ‘judgment’ on Iraq War vote

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on Sunday called former Vice President Joe Biden’s vote to authorize the Iraq War part of the nation’s “worst foreign policy decision” of the millennial mayor’s lifetime. Mr. Biden, who represented Delaware in the Senate, voted in October 2002 for the resolution to authorize the use of force in Iraq. As a candidate for president in 2007, Mr. Biden said he would support legislation to repeal the resolution, which remains in effect. Mr. Biden’s campaign had no comment on Mr. Buttigieg’s remarks. In the middle of a three-day trip through central and eastern Iowa, Mr. Buttigieg stopped short of suggesting Mr. Biden’s vote demonstrated a lack of foreign policy judgment required to be president.
