The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was called out to incidents in the Richmond Ranges, the Coastal Highway and Motueka. A woman with a leg injury and two medical calls kept the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter busy on Boxing Day. At 1pm on Thursday, the Rescue Helicopter was alerted to an emergency beacon which had been set off at Hunters Hut in the Richmond Ranges. Rescue Helicopter pilot Euan Stratford said a 37-year-old woman with leg injuries was airlifted to Nelson Hospital. The final callout was at 10.30pm, when a patient was airlifted from Motueka to Nelson Hospital.
