An Invercargill City Council initiative to spruce up business premises and verandahs in the central business district is gaining large support, Kari Graber says. Graber, the council's city centre co-ordinator, is adamant Invercargill can be as "beautiful" as other cities, like Melbourne. Streets involved in Rev Up are: from the YMCA building, in Tay St, to Dee St; from there to E Hayes & Sons in Dee St; Kelvin St, from Tay St to Don St; Esk St, from Kevin St to Dee St; Don St, from Kelvin St to Dee St. Graber said the areas targeted had high volumes of traffic and shoppers and needed a tidy up.
