Pressure tests show new fuel pipeline closure was false alarm

Pressure tests show new fuel pipeline closure was false alarmDAN MCGRATH/STUFF The fuel pipeline ruptured in September, crippling New Zealand air travel before being repaired 10 days later. Pressure tests on the pipeline which carries fuel into Auckland have shown the latest outage was caused by a false alarm. Early on Sunday Refining NZ shut down the pipeline, which carries virtually all of Auckland's fuel from the refinery at Marsden Point. Refining NZ has now said testing of the pipeline has shown the fault detected was a false alarm. An Auckland Airport spokesperson said the airport was aware of the issue and it was waiting for updates from Refinery NZ.
