RUGBY: Two clubs have been revived and a new side entered as a new-look Manawatū women’s club competition starts this weekend. The women’s competition had fallen to just three sides in recent years – Feilding Old Boys-Ōroua, Varsity and Kia Toa – but another three have joined for the start of the season on Saturday. Experienced Manawatū Cyclones flanker Sam Tipene has helped get the Bush team up and running and is player-coach. Kia Toa and Feilding Old Boys-Ōroua have won every title since 2009 and both clubs will be strong again this season.
