A Bungoma lobby group wants residents of Western Kenya to back former speaker Kenneth Marende for presidency in the 2017 general elections. Bungoma Amua Fwabene group officials said the former speaker remains the most neutral, sober and social person that Kenyans need at the moment in a president. "We as Bungoma Fwabene are asking Marende to come out boldly and launch his presidential bid so that we can all support and campaign for him,’’ he said. Peter Minka, a member, said Luhyas don't need to look further for a suitable candidate to support for the presidency. They said that the former speaker at that time showed that he was a sober and brilliant leader.
