Builders apprentice challenge a first for TaranakiSIMON O'CONNOR/Fairfax NZ Tom Ferguson speedily built an outdoor table and bench setting as part of the 2017 New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) Apprentice Challenge. The New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) Apprentice Challenge saw more than 70 apprentices nationwide demonstrate their skills by constructing a high-spec outdoor table and bench seating within a set timeframe. The winners from each region competition go through to the NZCB Apprentice Challenge Final, held at the NZCB Annual Conference in Auckland, May 26 and 27. The challenge is run by NZCB in association with the Industry Training Association Building (ITAB), which ensures new builders are extensively trained in safety while developing skills.
