Kane Rex Clark was jailed in New Plymouth District Court last week for tax evasion. A former builder has been jailed for more than two years for tax evasion. By failing to file tax returns and using a fictitious company name, Kane Rex Clark avoided paying more than $130,000. He was facing two representative charges of tax evasion by failing to file tax returns, one charge of failing to apply for GST registration, and two of driving while disqualified third or subsequent. The Gisborne and Otago-based builder was sentenced to 28 months’ jail for both the tax and unrelated driving offences.
