Share TweetBy Ellson QuismorioThe House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a measure that extends the life of the 2018 national budget, particularly the funds set aside for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) and for capital outlay. Given final nod by the Lower Chamber Monday was House Joint Resolution (HJR) 32, principally authored by House Speaker and former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. “With 194 voting in the affirmative, six negatives, [and] zero abstention, House Joint Resolution 32 is hereby approved on third and final reading,” declared Arbison, who represents Sulu’s second district. It should also be noted that the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is in the middle of its flagship “Build, Build, Build” initiative, which is an P8-trillion effort geared toward infrastructure modernization.
