The big data is changing the world but the Indian government is still shy of using machine learning and data mining to solve the big problems. In his Budget 2017 speech Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government would now use data mining to catch tax evaders. Jaitley said that data mining is going to help the government nab tax evaders. For now, it is not yet clear how the finance ministry will do the data mining. But among all the measures announced today to widen the tax, the data mining is probably the easiest to implement and with great results.
