Brandon Childress pumped in 30 points for Wake Forest (5-5, 0-2 ACC), which lost its third consecutive game after a three-game winning streak. Wake Forest is 0-2 in ACC play for the fifth time in a six-season span. N.C. State’s 45-36 halftime lead, marking its most first-half points this season, came in part because of Wake Forest’s 12 turnovers. This was only the third time in the last 15 regular-season meetings between N.C. State and Wake Forest that the visiting team won. Wake Forest had played its previous six games away from home.
