Livestock farmers will get a chance to see and pick cattle suitable for their ecological areas for breeding in an upcoming major livestock show sponsored by milk processor Brookside. Animal breed societies lined up for the show include Ayrshire, Guernsey, Holstein-Friesian, Jersey, Boran and dual purpose cattle. The biennial event has attracted participation from large scale farms in the country and those from neighbouring Uganda and Tanzania. We will parade nearly 1,000 quality stocks across all the major breeds, including those for dairy, beef and dual purpose animals,” chairman of the Brookside Livestock Breeders Show and Sale, Jimmy Brookssaid at his Mazao Yetu Farm in Koru, Kisumu. “The main aim of the show is to empower our farmers on best practice in livestock husbandry.
