Although the unexpected showers pushed up minimum temperatures, the impact of the three systems is expected to wane in another 48 hours, paving the way for a Celsius nosedive. Daltonganj topped the Tuesday morning rain chart with 13.5mm while the IMD observatory in the state capital recorded only 1mm. Statistics revealed that minimum temperatures witnessed an abrupt rise across the state, taking a toll on the chill. The IMD centre in Ranchi recorded a minimum of 13.6°C, a double-degree rise since Monday and four notches above normal. Daltonganj recorded a minimum temperature of 14.5°C, six notches above normal, which is quite abnormal during this time of the year.
