The ex-pat, 72, and his daughter, 52, were crossing the road after leaving the Circus Maximus, an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium, when tragedy struck. The extent of the daughter's injuries are not known, but she was able to communicate with police. It is understood the man, originally from the UK, had been living in Rome for a number of years.
