Long distance swim guru Philip Rush greets Michael Wells as he emerges from the lake just before midnight on Sunday. Australian architect Michael Wells has successfully breaststroked the 40.2 km length of Lake Taupō - becoming the first swimmer to use the style to do it. By the end of the swim, Wells had raised about $15,000 for respective breast cancer foundations in New Zealand and Australia.
