A staff member has been assaulted at the Hamilton Central Police Station. A police officer has been left with facial injuries after she was assaulted outside the Hamilton Central Police Station. The assault happened about 8am on Tuesday when the uniformed officer was heading into the station and was assaulted on the street by a member of the public, acting district commander Inspector Andrew Mortimore said. A 26-year-old man was arrested near the station and was expected to appear in Hamilton court on Tuesday. In 2016 a man assaulted an officer in the reception area of the Hamilton Central Police Station leaving the officer with a fractured cheek, cuts and bruises.
