It will be recalled that the Moroccan Sahara is a legacy issue from Africa’s colonial past. The truth is the Moroccan Sahara issue is nothing but a product of politics between Morocco and Algeria. In sum, the Moroccan Sahara issue was never about the Sahrawis. Of course, the move upset several players with vested interests in keeping the Moroccan Sahara issue simmering. Therefore, the bigger question is: What were Algerian truck drivers doing in the restricted buffer zone of the Moroccan Sahara when Algeria officially denies any involvement with the Moroccan Sahara issue?
