Brazilian women nabbed with R2.2m cocaine in Cape Town

Cape Town – Four Brazilian women have been arrested at Cape Town International Airport for alleged possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of R2.2m, Sars said on Wednesday. Officials stopped the women to inspect their hand luggage and perform body searches on Monday, Sars said in a statement. The four women, who were travelling with a man, were handed to police and would appear in the Bellville Magistrates' Court on Thursday. Three packages wrapped in brown paper and plastic were found strapped to the women's bodies. They contained a total of 8.5kg of cocaine.
