Brave dairy employee tackled robbers

Brave dairy employee tackled robbersALDEN WILLIAMS/FAIRFAX NZ Police cordon off a dairy on Breezes Rd, Aranui, after a robbery in June. A 21-year-old man admits he was the disguised, hammer-wielding robber who was bravely tackled by a dairy employee in Christchurch. Isaac Whatuira was followed from the Breezes Rd shop by Ruchik Patel, who ripped off the robber's hood and mask and pinned his arms to his side. When the pair left the shop, Patel followed, also carrying a hammer. Whatuira earlier admitted charges of unlawful possession of the offensive weapon – the knife – and a breach of a community work sentence.
