Covid-19 won’t have “a clean ending”, says Eoghan Nolan, founder of creative agency Brand Artillery. “I think it would be odd if an ad that was a stalwart pre-Covid was still around post-Covid,” says Nolan. The Irish ad market is expected to fall 30 per cent in 2020. Between the Covid-19 peak and the arrival of a vaccine, advertising will be “a tonal challenge for just about every brand”. I tend to feel – because I have been at this a long time – that sometimes good can come out of major change.
