Candidates have until Feb 14 to submit their nomination forms to the returning officers. The forms will be scrutinised on Feb 16 and candidates will have until Feb 23 to withdraw. The two seats were vacated following the deaths of Fisheries and Livestock Minister and Brahmanbaria-1 MP Sayedul Hoque and Gaibandha-1 MP Golam Mostafa. Hoque, who was elected to the seat five times as a member of the Awami League, died on Dec 16. The seat had previously been vacated after the murder of Manjurul Islam Liton on Mar 22, 2017.
