The cows might enjoy watching randy bulls flex their muscles by fighting, digging holes and wrecking fences, but I don't. It does mean that I'll be on the lookout for groups of sexually active cows from now until Christmas. The constant rain here in Taranaki, plus cows riding each other, means we had a spike in lame cows earlier in the month. - Brad Markham, 2016 Share Farmer of the Year for Auckland/Hauraki, left his journalism career for a new life on a dairy farm.
