The Palmerston North Boys' High School stage band won the division two title at the Generations in Jazz competition in Australia. BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS: The Palmerston North Boys' High School stage band was on song at one of the biggest high school jazz competitions in the world. The band won the division two title at the Generations in Jazz competition in Mt Gambier in South Australia earlier this month and about 5000 students were at the event. Boys' High band leader and drummer Ciaran Egan, 17, said it was a tough competition, so the band was happy to win. The Boys' High band got 96 points out of 100 for its test piece.
