ALOR STAR: A 10-year-old boy’s decision to skip his rugby training for a swim in a river near his home in Jitra, ended in tragedy when he drowned. Mohd Haziq Amsyar Shahril was taking a dip in Sungai Padang Terap with his younger brother Muhammad Harris, 7, and several friends during the incident today. He said the body of Mohd Haziq Amsyar Shahril who was an SK Bukit Tinggi student, was found at 5.45pm, about 15m from the spot he was last seen. The victim’s grandmother Fauziah Abd Rashid, 62, said Haziq had told her that he would be undergoing rugby training at school in the afternoon. The siblings’ father Mohd Shahril Sarusu, 37, works as an Auxiliary policeman in Butterworth, Penang.
