The Warner Bros./Time Warner Inc. offering snagged an estimated $61 million this weekend, including $7.5m in IMAX alone. Oh, and the film earned $142 million worldwide, with China and Japan still on deck for the weekend of the 24th, but let's concentrate on domestic fortunes for now. But for now I’m impressed with Kong: Skull Island’s weekend performance. Kong: Skull Island was the only new wide release, but there were at least two noteworthy limited bows. The well-reviewed drama earned $42,000 over the weekend for a surprisingly leggy 4.22x weekend multiplier.
